We have some tremendous changes for the Tour de Manc routes in 2025. In line with our history of continuous improvement there are some great new roads for all four of our rides as well as retaining the best bits of previous years,

Yes, the closed section to Werneth Low up Cowlishaw Lane remains, but this year we miss Bolton, Norden, the northbound climb up and over ‘Owd Betts as well as the Mad Loop up the Ramsbottom Rake. We still have the fantastic feed stations at Poynton and Saddle worth, supplemented this year by a great new one at Rawtenstall, courtesy of our friends at Rossendale Council.

The new routes this year include a new northern loop for the Challenge ride, a new feed station for the Northern Quarter. The Mad heads further south to take on the iconic Brickworks climb and a southern loop through New Mills, while all longer rides now travel along diverse routes over the hills to the north of Rochdale and across to Rawtenstall.

Choose your challenge

The Mad Manc

  • 201km
  • 3060 meters

The toughest challenge in the Tour de Manc® programme is the Mad Manc – It’s called that for a reason – as well as the challenge of 201km distance and a LOT of climbing, you’ve a time limit too. Too slow and you’ll be diverted onto one of the shorter routes.

The Classic Manc

  • 165km
  • 2150 meters

A testing Tour de Manc® challenge programme. This route is not for the unprepared or faint hearted. It’s a challenge, epic and based on our previous rides feedback you’ll be “Mad ‘fer it”.

£45

The Manc Challenge

  • 100Km
  • 1550 meters

In 2022 we listened to your feedback and gave the Half Manc a makeover. We’ve made the route less urban, with less traffic light stops and with a few more climbs to make it more interesting. This is a tough challenge for the fit occasional rider. This route is not a flat procession, but an achievable challenge, which you will enjoy.

£45

The Northern Quarter

  • 60km
  • 850 meters

This route is aimed at new cyclists who want an achievable ride, but it still tackles a couple of tough hills and will offer you one of the best views of Manchester and the Pennine hills.
